THRIVE Values

THRIVE Cape Cod is a partnership between gospel-centered churches and ministries on Cape Cod formed in a spirit of unity and collaboration. Together, we pray, dream, and develop specific strategies about ways we can serve our neighbors on Cape Cod.

Our Vision:
We envision thriving churches across Cape Cod, serving their communities. "When churches thrive, communities are blessed."

Our Strategy:
Together in Unity....
- Showing Jesus love through serving,
- Telling His story.
"So that the world will believe…" Jn 17:21

Our Beliefs:
‍We embrace the historical creeds and the Lausanne Covenant as expressions of the aspirations, calling, and beliefs we share. We also affirm the local church as the primary leader in advancing the Kingdom of God, in a Kingdom mentality that empowers collaboration, and unity that honors our distinctions.

Read Our Story

The English who came to Cape Cod 400 years ago didn’t want a day at the beach. They were trying to get away from one kind of life and start a new world for themselves. So they spent weeks on the Atlantic Ocean. When they stepped onto solid ground, they had one conviction — improve their lives through ingenuity and industry. These intelligent, inspired men and women invented, tinkered and persevered. They overcame rocky soil, isolation and harsh winters on this narrow peninsula. This world was so new to them that hope, health and home largely depended on good ideas harnessed to hard work.

At first, they mainly ensured their own survival. Gradually, though, their efforts transformed lives across America. Their descendants invented rubber car tires, Tupperware and basketball. Later, Massachusetts natives came up with computer spreadsheets, envelopes and the first American-English dictionary. Not that such essential advances even come close to our love for clam chowdah, lobstah and Dunkin’.

Today, though, many are still not having a day at the beach. We’ve had centuries of elite education and hard work, generating tremendous competency for the greater good. But here on Cape Cod, tens of thousands struggle with interrelated hardships. Opioid and alcohol addictions, military veterans’ issues, inadequate income and access to housing, homelessness and mental health.

But hope remains: The church of Cape Cod has the same passion as those outsiders who arrived four centuries ago. We want to see our communities thrive. We want to collaborate on mutual concerns. We believe God’s inspiration further empowers our industry and ingenuity. The church can make unique contributions motivated by the love of Christ.

Our goal to help the towns of Cape Cod flourish gained momentum and clarity in 2017. That’s when the THRIVE Conference, a regional gathering for disciples began. Ever since, the people of Cape Cod have benefited from a day of encouragement and equipping. The THRIVE Conference helps Christ’s disciples become like their Lord and better serve the world in his name.
